Your walk in Cap Corse

An exclusive Altre Cime tour of a little-visited region of Corsica!

Discover the wild landscapes of Cap Corse, a little-known region that has remained away from the tourist crowds. A truly itinerant trek, we start this hike from the seaside and gradually climb up to the watershed ridge of Cap Corse, which we follow from the northern tip to Bastia.

Your tour
Day 1: Meet at 8am in front of the Bastia Tourist Office. Transfer by vehicle to Cap Corse. Walk along the customs path, light bag. Night in a tent on a campsite

D2: Using mule tracks, we climb up to the Cap's watershed ridge. We'll be overlooking the Gulf of Alisgiu, a real little paradise. Night in a converted bivouac

D3 : After reaching the Torra Seneca, a Genoese tower (16th century) built on a rocky outcrop, we pass over a pass where we discover traces of human occupation dating back to the Neolithic period. Bivouac in tents near the spring.

D4: La Cima di e Follicie and Monte Stellu. This beautiful day will take us to the 2 highest peaks of Cap Corse. The view stretches over the island's high mountains, Italy and, in fine weather, the Alps. Bivouac in tents near the spring.

D5 : After crossing a final ridge, we begin our descent to Bastia. The group disperses mid-afternoon.

Rucksack: Day pack on days 1 and 2. Full rucksack from D3 to D5
Dates: tailor-made departures for groups from September to May
Accommodation : hotels, guest houses and bivouacs

Accompaniment by a local state-qualified mountain leader, full-board accommodation: breakfast, picnic lunch, hot evening meal, canistrelli (traditional dry biscuits) for the day, supply of group equipment (tents, sleeping mats, cooking pots, stoves, plates, bowls, cups, Tupperware), minibus transfers as described, transfer of your complete belongings on D1, D2 and D5.

Your own Tupperware for picnics (capacity 0.75L to 1L max.), drinks, wine with meals, personal expenses, travel between the Continent and Corsica, cancellation and repatriation insurance, any service not described in this programme.
