Hike the legendary GR20 trail from north to south
Climb 15 peaks over 2,000 meters high!
Come and explore the entire GR20 route from Calinzana to Conca! We will also take some beautiful alternative routes to climb the 15 most beautiful peaks on the island: Monte Cintu (2706 m), the highest point in Corsica, Capu Ladroncellu (2145 m), Punta Culaghja (2034 m), Paglia Orba (2525m), the queen of Corsican mountains, Capu Tafunatu, Monte Ritondu (2622m), Corsica's second highest mountain, Monte d'Oru (2389m), Punta di l'Uriente (2112m), Monte Rinosu (2352m), and Alcudina (2134m).
You will be guided by a local, state-certified guide who will help you discover their region and their love for the mountains, as well as little corners of paradise, sometimes just a few meters from the GR20! We guarantee you a special welcome in all GR20 accommodations. And we will give you a taste of Corsica through our best farm products.

YOUR PROGRAM:
Day 1: Meet at 5 p.m. in front of the Calvi train station or at Calvi airport.
For organized groups, we can meet you at any other location. Please contact us for rates.
Transfer to the Bonifatu hostel (25 min). Check in at the lodge. Presentation of the trip, equipment check. We will use this evening to get to know each other and pack our bags. Dinner at the hostel restaurant.
Day 2: Bonifatu – Ortu di u piobbu refuge (1,560 m)
Ascent to the refuge via a pretty forest trail. Crossing the ridge for superb views of the Gulf of Calvi.
Dinner at Jean-Marie's refuge. Night in the refuge or furnished tent. Cold shower.
Walking time: 3.5 hours, elevation gain: +1080m.
Day 3: Ortu di Piobbu Refuge / Carozzu Refuge (1270m)
First beautiful day in the high mountains! Off-trail ascent of two magnificent peaks: Monte Curona (2,144 m) and Capu Ladroncellu (2,145 m) for splendid views of the sea and the north face of the Monte Cintu range. We rejoin the GR20 at the Avartoli ridges, certainly one of the most beautiful sections of the GR20 North. From Bocca Innuminata, we begin a long descent to the Carozzu refuge. Swimming is possible near the refuge in the beautiful pools of Spasimata.
Dinner at Pierrot's refuge. Night in a furnished tent. Cold shower.
Walking time: 6 hours, elevation gain: +850m; -1100m.
Day 4: Carozzu refuge / Ascu lodge (1,422 m)
Climb up the beautiful slabs of the Spasimata cirque to Lake Muvrella. We then leave the current GR20 route to discover the magnificent ridges of the old GR20 above the Ascu valley. Ascent of Punta Culaghja (2034m). Possible hike to the entrance of the Cascettoni (Cirque de la Solitude), the former legendary passage of the GR20.
Dinner at Patrice's restaurant and overnight stay at the Ascu lodge. Hot shower.
Walking time: 8 hours, elevation gain: +1250m; -1100m.
Day 5: Ascu lodge / Tighjettu refuge (1683m) or Bergeries de Vallone (1450m)
Crossing of the Cintu massif via the Pointe des Eboulis variant. Ascent of the north face of Monte Cintu in a very mineral atmosphere. Discover the beautiful Lake Argentu. You will reach the Ghjarghje Rosse ridge, known as Pointe des Eboulis, at 2607m, where you can enjoy incredible views of the entire Corsican mountain range and the Alps in good weather.
It is possible to make a round trip to Monte Cintu (2706m), the highest point in Corsica, in high mountain terrain. Allow an additional 2 hours round trip for the ascent to the summit of Monte Cintu.
Cross the ridge to Bocca Crucetta, which overlooks Lake Cintu in its mineral setting. Long descent to the Tighjettu refuge in technical terrain, then a short descent to the sheepfolds of Vallone. Opportunity to swim in the river near the inn.
Dinner at Cathy's inn, night in a tented bivouac. Hot shower.
Walking time: 8 hours. Elevation: +1,200m, -1,200m.
Day 6: Vallone sheepfolds / Ciottulu refuge (1,991m)
A good warm-up on an easy forest trail before tackling the climb to Bocca Foggiale at 2000m. Swimming possible in a small secret pool on the way up. Arrival at the Ciottulu refuge, the highest refuge on the GR20 at 1991m, at the end of the morning.
In the afternoon, those who wish to can climb Paglia Orba (2525m), the most beautiful of the Corsican mountains, in a high mountain atmosphere. In the evening, we can watch the sunset over the sea from the ridges near the refuge.
Dinner at the refuge with Nico and Patrick (legendary Corsican soup!) and night in the refuge or bivouac. Cold shower.
Walking time: 3 hours. Elevation gain: +600m to the refuge.
Walking time: 3.5 hours. Elevation gain: + and -600m to the summit of Paglia Orba.
Day 7: Ciottulu / Bergeries de Vaccaghja (1621m)
Descent along the Golu, Corsica's longest river, to reach the Valdu Niellu forest and then Bocca du Verghju. Continuation of the stage along the GR20, through the forest and then along the ridge to Bocca a Reta. Optional round trip ascent of Monte Tozzu at 2007m.
Discover Lake Ninu and its pozzines, a real gem of the Corsican mountains. Hike along the Tavignanu and swim in the natural pools. Arrive at the Vaccaghja sheepfolds in a heavenly setting.
Dinner at Noël's sheepfolds and night in a bivouac set up near the sheepfolds. Hot shower.
Walking time: 6.5 hours. Elevation: +450m, -800m
Day 8: Vaccaghja / Petra Piana Refuge (1,842m)
A good warm-up with an easy crossing of the Camputile plateau to the Manganu refuge. A beautiful climb to Bocca alle Porte (2,225 m), overlooking the magnificent Capitellu and Melu lakes in the upper Restonica. Optional round trip climb to Punta Alle Porte (2,313 m). Cross the ridge to Bocca Soglia for superb views of the entire east coast and Sardinia, before reaching Bocca Rinosu and then Bocca Muzzella. Descent to the Petra Piana refuge, the oldest refuge on the GR20.
Dinner at Pascal's refuge and night in a bivouac. Cold shower.
Walking time: 6.5 hours. Elevation: +800m, -550m
Day 9: Petra Piana / Bergeries de l'Onda (1390m)
Early in the morning, climb up and down Monte Ritondu (2,622m), the highest peak in Corsica's second mountain range, for a 360° view of the whole of Corsica, the Alps, Italy, and Sardinia! Discover the magnificent Lake Vettaniella, the largest lake in Corsica, covering 7.5 hectares in the hollow of an incredible mineral cirque.
We will then reach the Bergeries de l'Onda via the classic GR20 trail along the beautiful Manganellu basins and through the forest, or via the Pinzi Curbini alpine variant for a beautiful ridge walk.
Dinner at the sheepfolds with Nicole and Jean-Do (lasagna with brocciu cheese produced on site!). Night in a furnished tent. Hot shower.
Walking time to the summit: 4.5 hours. Elevation gain: + and – 800m
Walking time for the stage: 5 hours. Elevation gain: +1000m, –450m
Day 10: Bergeries de l'Onda / Vizzavona (1150m)
Superb crossing of the Monte d'Oru massif. We start the day with a steady climb to Bocca Muratellu for a last look at the peaks of Haute Corse. You can climb Monte d'Oru, the highest peak in Corsica's third mountain range (2,389 m; round trip: + and -400 m; 2.5 hours). Descend along the Agnone and the famous Cascades des Anglais waterfalls, where you can swim in the natural pools. End of the GR20 North!
Arrival at the Gîte du Monte d'Oru at Marie-Jo's for a well-deserved break! This beautiful hotel with a distinctive early 19th-century character is the oldest hotel in Corsica still in operation. A visit here is a real journey back in time. The lounge alone is worth the detour.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant for a refined and hearty organic meal, certainly one of the best restaurants in Corsica, an unforgettable gourmet moment of your stay! Night in a gîte. Hot shower.
Walking time for the stage: 6 hours. Elevation: +800m, -1050m
Day 11: Vizzavona / Capanelle lodge (1586m)
There are two possible routes for this first day in Southern Corsica.
– Via the Pinzi Curbini di l'Uriente peaks, a wild and mountainous route. We start the day in the forest and head for the Pozzi sheepfolds. Then a ridge route takes us to Punta Scarpiccia. You can climb Punta di l'Uriente at 2112m for a splendid view of the eastern plain and Italy. The route then winds between the peaks and beautiful granite slabs to Capanelle.
– Or the classic route via the GR20, an easy path through the forest and along a balcony to discover the transhumance sheepfolds.
Dinner at Régine and Roger-Philippe's restaurant. Night in a gîte. Hot shower.

Walking time for route 2: 5.5 hours. Elevation: +700m, -300m
Day 12: E Capanelle / Prati Refuge (1840m)
Two more possible routes for this beautiful day!
– Ascent of Monte Renosu (2324m), the highest peak in Southern Corsica, and crossing of the superb Pozzi Valley.
– Or a route through the forest and along the GR20 ridge trail (+890m; -590m; 6 hours).
The two routes meet at the Col de Verdi, from where we tackle the final climb to Bocca d'Oru, certainly one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the GR20 South.

Walking time for route 2: 6 hours. Elevation: +900 m, -600 m
Day 13: Prati / Usciolu Refuge (1,750 m)
A magnificent day along the ridge with breathtaking views of the entire Corsican mountain range and the sea to the east and west. Ascent of Punta Capella (2,041 m) and Punta Furmicula (1,981 m).
Dinner at Francis's refuge and night in a refuge or furnished tent. Cold shower.
Walking time for this stage: 5.5 hours. Elevation: +700m, –600m
Day 14: Usciolu /Asinau (1530m)
The day begins on the granite ridges of Usciolu, then the terrain becomes gentler and we cross the vast Cuscione plateau via the old GR20 trail. Ascent of Monte Alcudina (2134m), the last peak over 2000m in southern Corsica, for a panorama stretching from the north of the island to Sardinia.

Walking time for the stage: 7 hours. Elevation: +1,050m, -850m
Day 15: Asinau / Paliri Refuge (1,055m)
The day begins with a pleasant walk along a balcony path in the Laricci pine forest. Then we tackle the alpine variant of the Bavella peaks. Crossing the Bavella ridges in the heart of an impressive massif of peaks. Arrival at the Paliri refuge via a pretty forest path, the most bucolic of the GR20 refuges.

Walking time for this stage: 6 hours. Elevation: +700m, -1200m
Day 16: Paliri / Conca (230m)
The last stage of the GR20!
Crossing the southern massif of the Bavella peaks, we descend in altitude and gradually rediscover the fragrant essences of the maquis. A pretty pool awaits us for a last swim. Then we tackle the final descent to the village of Conca.
Walking time for the stage: 5 hours. Elevation: +300m, –1100m
Transfer by minibus to Santa Lucia di Portivechju or Portivechju in the early afternoon.
End of service.
Bus to Bastia and Ajaccio, shuttle to Figari.
